Small Town Beginnings Lead to Big Time Love

Our love story began because of the towns of Haworth and Harrington Park. We were both on a Facebook NJ Singles site of more than 5,000 at the time we met. I (Domenica a/k/a Nikki) had responded to a post that I was from Harrington Park, NJ, which is an unrecognizable town to 90% of New Jersey folks. Rich sent me a message in July 2021 asking me if I still lived in Harrington Park, which he knew of, as his grandparents lived in Haworth. Before I got his message, I saw a photo had recently he posted of himself in a lime green worn t-shirt. I was shocked at the number of female posts asking him for a date as my initial thought was "wow, that shirt is not his color and not flattering." But I gave him second look because of his beautiful blue eyes and kind smile. His message sat in a hidden messenger folder for 2 weeks until I discovered the folder. When I finally saw it, I was intrigued that someone else knew my town, and thought it was a much better ice breaker than the usual initial guy's message "Hi Beautiful".After a month of rather intense texts, full of philosophical and deeper thought, and a few phone calls, our first date on August 8th felt so simple and effortless. No nerves at all. We shared a nice kiss at the edge of the park when he dropped me at my car. He called me that evening, telling me that the date reminded him of his favorite Eagles song- Peaceful Easy Feeling. So sweet! But between some bumps in the road, namely Covid, past insecurities and a horrific karaoke video of me singing Peaceful Easy Feeling, we officially started dating in October 2021. It was a trip to New Hope, PA and our car karaoke on the way home, singing badly to Summer Nights from Grease, that sealed the deal.In the four years prior to our engagment, we have had so many awesome adventures and endured some challenges too. We are both no strangers to challenges and heartache, but we are stronger together for it. As I lived in Dumont, on a parallel street to Rich's parents, for 16 years, we have often laughed and wondered if we had ever crossed paths. We are so different, but awesome together, that we truly believe the timing of our love was meant to be.After knowing it "was time," I, not so subtly, found a ring I loved and told Rich. Despite my Goldilocks' insistence, Rich patiently waited to receive the "perfect" ring from the jeweler that made my heart swoon. He proposed to me "on top of the world" (at least on American Dream's Ferris Wheel) and it was perfect. The engagement party the next day was a huge surprise and amazingly orchestrated by Rich.Our love, later in life, has given us an appreciation, admiration, patience, loyalty, and passion that many people never find in love. We love unconditionally!We look forward to many more adventures and living life to the fullest. Lisa and Nikki have been great friends for over 15 years. Both born as Aries, their "naughty and nice" personalities compliment the friendship.   They have survived a prior friends' group's break-up, both not falling prey to drama. Lisa pushed Nikki to join NJ Singles at a "rough" period in Nikki's  life,  just for the belly laughs that member posts created. Thankful and grateful that Nikki agreed to join!

Keith is Rich's best friend for over 39 years.  Rich and Keith met at Domino's pizza. Keith quickly saw that Rich was a goofball as Rich was standing behind the manager rolling his eyes as the manager was lecturing Keith on store policy.   Soon after, Keith had dinner with the Meyers and became family.  In addition to being Rich's "Brother from another Mother", Keith is also Groomsman Steve's brother-in-law.   The adorable dog in the photo is faithful companion Hanna (not in the bridal party).  Keith and and Rich can talk for literally hours.  For Rich, the most endearing part of the friendship is, Keith gives him an unbiased view of life.

Anthony is Nikki's wonderful younger brother, living in southern CA. His creative talent has lead him into  a path of film and photography.  With a 12- year age gap, Nikki and Anthony's relationship has been solid from the start.  For Nikki, it has been an honor to help him through life events that she experienced years earlier.

Steve, is the second of the four brothers.  Steve's passion is a being "a  family man."  Quite enviable, Steve is never outside an earshot away from his wife Jamie, and they communicate with their three boys, Steven A, Derrick and Nick,  daily,  and visit Derrick and Steve A and his partner, Josue, often. Steve and Jamie  are both in the floral business.  Rich can call or text them with the craziest description of a plant or flower, or show them a picture thereof.   Within minutes, they, are able to be about the specific plant or flower.

Tony, Rich's youngest brother, is an amazing chef, having attended  a culinary program at Johnson and Wales, in RI. When given a challenge to cook, he creates "home run" masterful dishes . Funny story from Rich: One night we both stayed at my folks house, Tony changed car positions with my vehicle. As Tony left my pickup in the street, I jumped in and took off. Next this I see Tony running up the street after me, until he saw it was me.   Gotcha little brother!  Love you!

Joe is the the third of the four brothers. Although sometimes known as the "absent minded professor" for lacking to following up on plans, Joe is the brightest of all of us.  Joe and Rich always were the two that shared their mom's calm and diplomatic, mediator-like ways. - Cool, Calm and Collected.  Joe and Rich seldomly raise their voices, see the good in any situation, and strive to create peace in any situation.  Joe married his beautiful wife, Tricia, in 2009 and have a daughter, Anna , who is a Junior bridesmaid. 

Josephine and Nikki met on their law school orientation weekend.  They were fast friends, study partners and on law review together.  Always sitting together in class,  most professors used the "Socratic Method" for student participation by alphabet.   One professor always called on Josephine but  skipped Nikki, likely because the professor could not pronoun Nikki's  maiden last name.  After graduation, they remained bests friends.  Josephine was always routing for Nikki to find love again after tragedy.   After 25 years, they text almost every day and have lunch and shopping days on every few months.  Josephine is like the sister Nikki always wanted.

Juviera  and Nikki met in High School.  They bounded quickly as they were in similar classes.  They were both outside of the "in crowded" and shared a genuine desire to be friends without having to impress people. . Juviera and Nikki went to college with each other for a year.   Albeit losing touch for a few years, Nikki and Juviera reconnected and have been steady friends ever since again.   Juviera lives the closest to Nikki so they go to dinner often.

Samantha is Josephine's daughter.  Nikki has watched her grow up to be a lovely, bright and beautiful young lady.  Samantha joins Josephine and Nikki some days for lunch and shopping trips and they all have so much fun!  Shortly after Nikki stared dating Rich, and felt confident on the subject , Nikki told 5-year old Samantha that she would be bridesmaid in Nikki's wedding one day. Nikki  is thrilled to have her as a Junior Bridesmaid!

Anna is Rich's niece.  She is a wonderful young lady.  Being interested in fashion, Anna already has a real sense of style.    Nikki looks forward to going shopping with her in the future.  Nikki is grateful and blessed to soon be an aunt to this young lady!

Billy and  Rich  have known each other for 38 years. They share the same passion for "America's Team".   Billy has been there through many good and tough times and always has Rich's back.  Billy is the other "Brother From Another Mother."   Rich is thrilled to expand the friendship to Billy's wife Ruby and her two kids, Blake and Claeve.

Meredith is Nikki's longest friend.  She and Nikki met when they were 8-years old and lived down the street from each other.  They have danced, they have cried and they have gone puddle jumping in the rain!  They have had such great times together and really support each other.  Even though their lives are busy and they don't live with walking distance anymore, when they get together, it is like nothing has changed.  Meredith is family to Nikki and one day Nikki hopes to live close enough to each other to grow old together, talking daily walks and chatting about life.
